One last tune for a while...

I made another "stayin' at home" video this morning, recording the most recent song Mark & I wrote: Because You.  The last one for a while, because we will be hitting the road in a few days.

Mark calls this one "an ear worm," because after working on it for a while, it tends to stick in your head.  I get that.  I had some other songs in mind, but this one stayed with me.  I'll put a link at the end to the SoundCloud recording of this song with the complete version, but I like this solo acoustic version as well...

If you look close, I am using a prompter for the words.  This song is still new enough that I don't have all the lyrics memorized.  See if you can find where I miffed a word.  Twice.  ;-)

Here's the SoundCloud link for the full band version:

The process...

The guitar hangers are emptying - starting to look empty in our music room...

Just the X10 and a bass guitar that are left.  The X10 will be coming along for the summer.

Texas Governor Abbott was just on TV, discussing the rising numbers of Covid-19 cases.  It did not sound like he was about to close anything down, but rather was explaining that most of the state is in "good shape" for hospital vacancies.  He suggested continuing to socially distance and wear a mask in public.  When I saw him on there, I was concerned that he might be shutting things down again... in the words of the philosophers Eric Burdon and The Animals: "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place."  (1965)

Apparently, he hasn't visited this part of the state because there isn't much social distancing happening, and it is rare to see a mask in public, other than employees in stores where it is required.  Do you suppose that has anything to do with the rising rates of hospitalization and new cases reported in our county?

It's a new World Record!

This afternoon, while taking garbage to our new compactor and checking mail, a golf cart went by.  A 4-person golf cart.  With 9 people onboard.  Now, to be fair, there were 4 adults and 5 kids (on infant and the rest looked to be under 8).  One kid was standing.  Two more were in the woman's lap up front, and the woman sitting in back had the infant and one other kid on her lap.  Doesn't allow much in the way of holding on to the cart in case of a fast stop or other quick maneuver.
