The last hurrah!
Well, hopefully not the last... but, the last for a while.
The boat trailer is home and the plan is to pull the boat in the morning. About 5:30 this afternoon, we shoved off for one last, presumably short, outing with the boat. The water temp is in the 80s right now... 88º at our dock according to the temperature probe on the GPS, 83º once we were out of our canals. Yes, that is hotter than usual for this time of year.
Thanks to that warm water, slime and greenery are showing up on the parts of the boat that are in the water. A bit of movement today should help with the cleaning tomorrow. Well, that was my reasoning. The plan for today was to get the boat out of our canals and run it at speed down to the ship channel, turn around and come home. If we see anything along the way, we'll stop to enjoy the views; if not, it will still be some boat time before we put it away.
On with the boat outing...
A couple pelicans doing a fly-by. And passing through the turning basin, we did see a couple dolphins feeding...
After passing the turning basin, I ran the speed up to see if we could jettison some of the slime on the bottom of the hulls. We were just enjoying cruising along...
A loop around the bird sanctuary island at the ship channel, then I turned us around to head back home. In the ICW on the way to our canal, we decided to take some time for one last dolphin viewing...
Yeah, this is getting good...
A bit of "ruckus" in the water...
They were on both sides of the boat. I never use my phone to get photos, but the opportunities presented themselves...
Joan shooting with the Nikon...
We said good-bye to the dolphins and did a bit more bird watching as we got close to our canal...
Pelicans above (juveniles) and a black bellied whistling duck below...
A great blue heron posing...
Into our canal...
Our house with the flag on it...
A nice way to wrap up our boating for a while.

Bye-- Bye Dolphins.. Thanks for Pics.
It seems it was not to long ago that you Launched the Boat..
Any plans where you're going to Point the R.V.? Can't go South-- N/E or West??
Hey Cap, how about some underwater GoPro shots and a drone pic or two?? I know the water is not always real clear but likely OK in some spots. Do the dolphin talk loud enough for a recording? I was thinking when you get back you might do a moonlight serenade on the water for us!!!! How loud is the Vespa vs the Honda?? How is your battery strength now on the E-Bikes? Thinking of the post on C-Brats you made about leaving water toys home on the first Lake Powell trip, how do you feel about SUP's vs small kayaks vs other water toys, worth the $$$? Do you fish? I follow Vlogs of a couple of Texas kayakers who fish and they seem to enjoy the inshore but the outside waters look windy and rough lots of the time. Waiting for the next destination, may the gas be low cost ("cheap" is a bad word - like "stupid"), the winds on your tail, the police clear on triple tow laws, and the camp grounds clean, quiet, low cost, and willing to distance you from rude campers and other distractions. See ya. Bob Jarrard
