A day off...

"So, you traveled about 150 miles yesterday, and you needed a day off?"  Thanks for asking - and, yes.  The blow out aftermath took a lot of time and energy.  It was good to have a day where we didn't have to deal with traveling.  Don't get me wrong - we enjoy traveling.  This trek between the Tropical Tip and the Valley of the Sun isn't the most fun... probably because we have made that drive so many times.

But, today, we slept in (mostly).  I took Ruf for a nice long walk - he walks better here in this RV park compared to the one in Goodyear; there is paved edges to the asphalt roads, lots of shade (thanks to that large overhead that is also solar panels), and nice landscaping: every site has a tree and some shrubbery, so Rufus has lots of interesting stuff to sniff.

We went out for a late breakfast/early lunch at a place we haven't been to in over two years: Waffle House.  Our timing was perfect - the place was mostly empty.  The food came fast (they're using a griddle) and it was tasty.  From there, we stopped at a nearby Camping World to check out some things; bought a few, but it was also recon for stuff we will order once we're home (there is a limit to how much stuff we can haul).

Back to the coach to give Rufus his lunch, the Joan suggested we check out a local guitar shop.  We've been to this place in the past, and they had a great selection.  She has been thinking she might want another guitar (no, she doesn't play).  We got there, and the door was locked... they have changed the way they do business during Covid, and they have not gone back to having an open store.  As we walked back to our car, a guy came to the door and asked if there was something specific we were interested in... he didn't have what we were looking for, but we found out this shop sells mostly online, but will open for someone locally with an appointment and with a specific guitar model in mind... there is no browsing.

We made a couple stops, then back to the coach.  Joan re-installed some trim that Winnebago didn't attach well, and I sealed up the cracks in the inner fender liner from yesterday's incident.  We will be good to go in the morning.  Relaxing around the coach, and right now Joan is preparing supper for us.

Once the sun goes down, I'll take Rufus for another walk, we'll take showers, and get a good night's sleep before we head out in the morning.  We have a general distance we'd like to make tomorrow, not based on the miles we didn't make yesterday or today.  But now, we are all three refreshed.

See you down the road.

Hey, Earl - I got a notification that you posted a comment, but don't see it. Re: Rainbow Guitars - if you make an advanced appointment, you can go in, but looking through the door, we didn't see any guitars on the walls.

Good to hear that Alice and Duke are getting some leash time. Tell him he isn't being punished with that leash, it is "special treatment." ;-)
