If you said, "Sung by Glenn Fry, 1984, from the soundtrack of the movie Beverly Hills Cop," you get 20 bonus points. If you said, "Getting hot there in the desert?" you are right, but no bonus points.
We did the last of the work necessary to the cargo trailer this morning, before it got hot. All the chocks and tie-downs are through bolted and locked in place. We did a "test fit" with all the straps - we're both feeling good about the positioning. There was some caulking that Joan did on the trailer, then the two of us slithered under the motorhome to strap up some electrical conduit that Winnebago must have undone to fit the back cap on during the roof replacement. More caulking to hold some trim on the awning arms (also part of the repairs). Yes, we continue to find things that need "attention" from the roof replacement.
We are getting short on time here. The original plan was to leave on the 15th, but that put us on the road during the Easter weekend. We moved things a few days beyond, so hopefully we won't run into packed roads and RV parks on the way home.
Joan went to Steph and Dan's to bake a cake, inspired by the Nothing Bundt Cakes we got for Mark's birthday. While she did that, I took the CTX out for a ride. Hot and windy. I stopped by Steph and Dan's to visit on my way back to the motorhome. And to rehydrate. Did I mention: hot? And windy?
We have our list of stuff to get done and packed before we head out. Looking ahead at weather, Mother Nature looks to be offering a lot of wind along our route. We'll be checking daily to see what day looks best to roll.
Rufus is ready to get back to his "big chair."
