Exhausting... and Stupid Driver Tricks...

The exhaust fan in Joan's bathroom crapped out.  Is that the right description?  We found a replacement fan motor on Amazon; it takes a few days to get it, but it saves us a trip to Brownsville or Harlingen... only to find that Home Depot and Lowe's don't have it.  We had a pink slip in our mailbox on Saturday, so today was the first opportunity to go to the Post Office to get it.

Only one person in front of me at the Post Office, but the clerk couldn't find her package.  I think she may have taken a lunch break while looking for the package... "Nope, there's nothing there - did you pick it up already?"

The woman in line answered, "If I had picked it up, I wouldn't be here for it."  That seems like good reasoning.  More looking, no finding.  Finally, the clerk looked at the pink tag and said, "Oh, this is letter, not a package."  Only took a few more minutes of looking.

Fortunately, the clerk found my package in less than 5 minutes.  Back home, and we went to work on the fan... it went together and worked, just like it is supposed to.

With that done, it was time for me to take a motorcycle ride.  Nice day, mostly sunny, a bit of fog at the northern part of SPI.  Two "Stupid Driver Tricks" today, both on the causeway.  I have mentioned that the eastbound portion of the causeway is one lane due to construction/repair.  A couple in a black truck (yes, Minnesota plates) saw a dolphin from the causeway and came to a complete stop.  With traffic behind them trying to do the 55 mph speed limit.  Nobody died.  Surprisingly.  Coming back to the causeway, after cruising around on SPI, there was what looked like a moped in front of me... on the causeway... it was an e-bike that had "the look" of a moped.  At best, it might do 25 mph... on a causeway with no bike lane and traffic doing 55 to 65 mph.  A death-wish.  I got around him and didn't look back; I can't say if he made it.  There is a sign stating that pedestrians and bicycles are prohibited on the causeway.
