Too much partying this holiday weekend? No, not me. But, we've all seen those stages the heavily imbibed go through:
1. All normal.
2. Just getting a happy buzz on.
3. The "I love you, man!" stage, with slurred speech.
4. Gonna fight with someone.
5. Blotto - down for the count.
This is what #5 looks like after Rufus has gone through those stages with catnip...
No, I didn't have to carry him home. He goes through those stages pretty quick. And, yes, he's still a good boy. A short time later, back on our patio...
I got out for a ride on this Labor Day morning. For a change of pace, I took Joan's Xmax... what a fun ride! I started out on the close twisties, but found my way to Iron Mountain Road. I didn't take a camera along, but I did stop to get this photo...
If you look really, really close... between those two trees in the upper center of the image... that is Mt Rushmore. The Xmax is very different from my CTX: CVT transmission vs the dual clutch transmission on my bike. 100 pounds lighter and very sporty feeling. "Flickable" through the curves. And there are a lot of curves here.
Back at Hart Ranch, there is a lot of activity around the resort - most of it is people moving out or getting ready to move out. Rigs out of sites and on the street... clogging up traffic while they load their golf cart or UTV onto a trailer. The storage site trucks are busy moving rigs off sites and into storage.
Some people getting their last ride on the train before heading home...

Mother Nature must have gotten into that catnip. The weather weasels have been calling for a chance of precip this afternoon and evening. Now, it is thunderstorms, with wind gusts of 50 to 70 mph and hail happening southwest of us... moving northeast. The future radar is showing some of those cells moving over us. It is calm and partly cloudy at 2:25 - those storms are moving at 45 mph. Joan put away things on the patio and we pulled in the slides and the patio awning.
Joan said "Mother Nature taking one more swipe at us before we leave." We'll see how it plays out. One of the storms on future radar...
Several lines of thunderstorms heading this way.
High today of 90º, it won't get out of the 60s tomorrow.
The first round passed with some gusty wind and 12 raindrops...
This one moved around us - north of Rapid City and Ellsworth Airforce Base got some nasty weather. Two more rounds coming before the night is done.
