Faces...

That foggy stuff from this morning?  Yeah, the stuff that the weather weasels said would burn off by 10:00 or so?  It didn't.

Joan needed to get something mailed this morning, so we picked up a Manuel's breakfast tortilla to go.  You know, just in case the dreary gray stuff lifted.  It did... in a Pacific Northwest "sunbreaks" kinda way: the sun would peek out for about 30 seconds, then back to solid gray.  We decided to "wait it out."

Just before 2:30 and two Netflix movies later, I decided to go out and get the cover off the boat.  It looked like it might get sunny... and then, not.  We headed out...

At the end of our canal, we came across Mike and M.J. heading back in - they told us it was getting foggier out there.  We decided to head out, anyway.

Yep, it was getting grayer.  It wasn't cold, but damp enough that we put on jackets...

Out of the canals, the visibility wasn't bad...

Barely into the turning basin, we saw the first of what was going to be a great dolphin encounter...

Moments later, they were all around us...

Between the two of us, we shot over 200 photos.  No, I won't post every one of them.  😉  The theme for today was: spy hops - there were faces galore!

And when I say "by the boat"...

I guess if we are averaging one day a week of decent (relatively) weather, it is nice to get some great dolphin viewing.

I do my part to get the boat maneuvered...

Joan shoots with the DSLR, I fill in with some wide shots.  It works for us.  And, yes, we both talk to the dolphins.

My favorite shot of the day...

Belly!

That's the rail of the boat at the bottom of the images above and below - they were swimming alongside, and then under the boat...

Joan likes to get photos with dolphins and pelicans in the same shot, when it presents itself...

Time for us to head in - a last wave good-bye...

This Coast Guard boat gave us a slow pass on the way by (this was after they passed us)...

More fog forecast for tomorrow morning - I left the cover off the boat, hopeful that we may get out tomorrow - before the next front comes in.
