The journey or the destination?

This trip, so far, has been about the journey... which has been as much about persistence as enjoyment.  The first few days were hot, humid, and windy; it isn't like you want to stop and get out to see "the world's biggest ball of twine" along the way.  ;-)

We left the "almost there campground" after breakfast and clean-up this morning.  Joan drove the Honda with the cargo trailer behind it; Rufus and I were in the motorhome...

"I'm in the Momma seat!  Is that OK?"  Sure.  Seems odd to not see anything behind me...

As of 11:00 or so this morning, we are at Hart Ranch in the Black Hills, and that is the destination.

This is the RV resort that we compare all others to.  I misspoke yesterday: it wasn't 7 miles we had to go today - it was 7 miles to the turn off, and then another couple miles on a side road to get to the resort.  Even though it was before their official RV check-in time, the lady at the front counter welcomed me with a friendly smile.  I listened and nodded as she explained some of the highlight and rules (we have been members here for over 25 years), thanked her, and went back to the coach, where Joan and I each pulled up to the site.

Before putting the motorhome on the site, Joan pulled on with the cargo trailer; we unhooked that and moved the CR-V off the pad, then parked the motorhome.  Plenty of room here to have the car, trailer, motorhome, and stuff on our site...

Getting moved in for a while.  :-)
