An even more momentous day...

Steph's B-day!

My own birthdays don't make me feel old, but when my kid's birthday comes around, I remember the sweet little thing, with pigtails, and cute little kid voice, she used to be.  I'm also proud of the great woman she has become.

We spent the day with Steph and Dan.  She made another Vespa t-shirt for me, this one is more "traditional"...

This one went way faster than the last one, since there is little hand work to do, other than getting each layer overlaid properly.  I told Steph: "Well, 2 T-shirts - that takes care of my summer wardrobe!"  This one looks great, too.

We took Steph and Dan to Cheddar's for lunch.  Three of the four of us had never been to one before.  Good food.  Friendly service.  Decent prices.  We will be going back there again.

Then, my favorite thing in the whole world: furniture shopping.  (insert sarcasm emoji here)  I would rather be in a room full of people coughing and hacking than go furniture shopping.  I was not driving, so I didn't get a vote.

Steph and Dan recently bought new living room furniture... and as we all know: that makes people want to consider more new furniture.  No, I don't know why.  They are talking about changing one of their bedrooms to a media room, and this particular furniture store will be temporarily closing soon to remodel.  In the advertising vernacular: they are blowing things out!  No reasonable offer refused (they decide what is reasonable)!  Buy now before it's gone!  We must be crazy to have prices this low!  Some items (everything but the furniture) is 90% off!

While Steph and Joan negotiated with the sales lady, Dan staked a claim on the theater seats (very comfortable, by the way) he wanted.  Fortunately, this place isn't too far from their house or our RV park, so once they put a "sold" sign on Dan's theater seats, he took me back to the coach so I could get a short nap and have some Rufus time.

That also gave the ladies time to wrap up the rest of the buying (sales too good to resist).  I got my nap.  Everybody is happy.  Then, back to Steph and Dan's place for cake and ice cream.  And watching the new furry kid try to wrestle with their big male cat (almost as big as Rufus)... not much of a contest, but you have to give the new kid credit for trying... and give the big boy credit for exceptional patience.

It was a nice day with our kid and, of course, Dan and the cats.
