Beep - Beep!

A beautiful day here in the desert.  Before heading out on the scoots, we sat out on the patio with Rufus.  It wasn't long before we had a couple visitors...

A couple roadrunners... and they had no concern for the people or large cat sitting out on the patio.  As you can see, one of them came right up to the door of the motorhome... I'm guessing someone around here has been feeding them.

Joan put Rufus on the patio mat after the roadrunners gave us a bit of distance - he was on high alert...

As you can see in the first photo in this post, Joan had a hand on Rufus's harness so he didn't lunge at them.  He is fast, but... roadrunners.  ;-)

We had a nice ride on the scoots.  Didn't have a destination, so we just cruised; down Cotton Lane and into Estrella Mountain Ranch.  A lot of development happening in that area.

Joan suggested we make it a lunch outing... to In-N-Out Burger.  Once you say it, there are no take-backs.  Traffic was thick along Dysert, the street In-N-Out Burger is on.  Once in the parking lot, it was not as packed as usual; we even found a parking spot in the shade...

The restaurant was busy, but not Sunday afternoon busy.  People seemed to be keeping an arms-length radius around themselves.  Well, except for the crew working: they were packed in that grill area behind the counter.  The burgers were typical In-N-Out good.

A bit more cruising, a stop to top off gas tanks (Joan got 88mpg, I got 81mpg), then home away from home.  After reading a thread on the scooter forum where I regular poster was cleaning up his scoots, I got inspired and got the Vespa looking good...

It wasn't just the Vespa that got the deep cleaning treatment - I did the same for Joan's Xmax.  I guess it has been a while since I got to the radiator screen behind the front wheel - the Vespa had more bug carcasses and crud than the Yamaha.  Or, maybe it is the aerodynamic design of one vs the other?  Either way, both scoots are looking good!
