I missed it...

With all that is going on, I missed that yesterday was the Vernal Equinox.  No, that is not a model of a Chevy SUV.  This is the day that many places (depending on your distance from the Equator) have 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness.  The tipping point in moving from winter and toward summer.

I was visiting with a neighbor in the RV park yesterday - yes, from more than 6 feet apart; like us, he has been here for past winters.  We agreed that this has been the coolest and wettest February and March here in our time.

So, officially, yesterday was the first day of Spring.  With all the moisture, the desert is going to be in full bloom any time.  We may see some of that on our way home.  Assuming we go home at our usual time.  These are not usual times.

State and National Parks have been closing.  That moves RVers out of those parks, and presumably home or into commercial campgrounds.  We are getting word of the first commercial RV parks in west Texas that are being ordered to close.

There is no hard reason we have to head for home on April 1st.  A lot of RVers say they "have to get back to do taxes.  We already did that - you don't have to be sitting in your physical home to take care of taxes.

The word we are getting from home says the spring break kids have not heeded the warnings about limiting gatherings - huge crowds on the beach.  That petri dish of partiers will soon be taking that back home... not to their colleges, because most of those are closed.  With schools closed in the area, that brings more crowds to the beach.  Which means more people in the stores buying beer and food stuff.  In the past, March has been a good time to not be there.  We are considering staying away a bit longer.  We'll see how that plays out.
