Murphy and I were out for a walk again. Coming around to Steph and Dan's side, Dan was just putting away his griddle - they made steak for supper. Murphy has seen Steph regularly, but not so much of Dan while we've been "keeping our distance." Dan sat down on the turf and encouraged Murphy to come to him. "It's OK, buddy, Dan isn't a cat killer."
Of course, it wasn't long before Steph came to their patio door. She came out, and Murphy went right towards her. In the meantime, there were two other cats just inside their patio door: Tango (the little orange boy, who doesn't look so little compared to Murphy) and Alfie (the male Siberian Forest Cat). Murphy went up to Alfie, looked back at me, and said, "Did you see the size of that cat??"
Alfie's head is about twice the size of Murphy's. No fuss, no hissing - just a lot of looking each other over. Alfie is very mellow. Tango came to the door, but wasn't as confident this time around, since his Momma was outside the door. I think we are getting close to an arranged playdate where they can both be on the same side of the door. It will likely need to be at our place, since Tango isn't allowed outside, and he has already been over to visit us a time or twelve.
Upper 60s in the desert this afternoon - closer to normal temps, finally. The next week or so is supposed to be in the 70s for daytime highs. I'm ready for that.
