Happy New Year!

We were in bed last night around 10:30.  "You old folks can't party like you used to, huh?"  No, we can't, but thanks for pointing that out.  Before bed, we sat on the couch with Murphy between us, in case he needed any soothing from popping sounds of fireworks outside.  He popped his head up a time or two, but didn't seem too bothered by it.

If the fireworks noise was worse at midnight, I didn't hear it.  Murph was on his pad down by our feet... I think we all slept through it.

This was the first good night's sleep I've had in a while.  While I'm sure that helped, I think the Paxlovid is kicking in, as well.  My ass is still dragging, but I do feel better.

More entertainment this morning: Murphy is more of a morning crazies feline than evening.  After his breakfast, Joan plays with him with some of his cat toys.  There is no shortage of cat toys.  Some of them are family heirlooms, some are new; he is establishing his favorites.  The boy has plenty of kitten in him, so we do our best to keep him active and involved.

Decided what toys to pull out...

The boy has established an obstacle course through the legs of the bar stools at the kitchen counter...

It is blurry - the boy was moving!  On his tower...

And one that shows his cute face...

He'll take a breather, then go after the toys again.

This is our start to the new year: a new house in a new state, with this new furry boy.  The new living situation with Steph and Dan next door (Steph is the only one who is still testing negative, so we're keeping our distance).  Wish you all the best for 2024.
