Gray skies are gonna clear up...

Put on a happy face.

If you said, "Dick Van Dyke, from the musical 'Bye, Bye, Birdie', 1960," you get 300 bonus points.  If you said, "The movie, 'Bye, Bye, Birdie', 1963," you get 100 bonus points.

Other than the bit of rain I rode through with the scoot yesterday morning, we haven't had much precipitation.  The weather weasels called for scattered thunderstorms through the night last night, and all day today.  It didn't happen.  Oh, we had a spit of drizzle here and there, but nothing that amounted to any significant measurable precip.  It was a refreshingly cool 66º and breezy when I went for a walk this morning.

Other than not getting out on scoots, we went about with our day; Joan got her flu and pneumonia shots, I restrung a couple guitars, Rufus got to go for a couple walks, and we met friends Mike and MJ for lunch over on the island.  Our lunch date gave us the chance to catch up on the summer happenings, and we got to see MJ's new Chevy Blazer (a gorgeous deep red/maroon, btw).

Then, the 3rd and hopefully final phone holder for my Vespa, a Quad Lock arrived in the mail.  I took the time to take the latest old mount off and put on the new one... looks like this will be a keeper.  And, no, I don't talk on the phone while riding the scoot, but it is handy to have Waze (a GPS/traffic app) on there because the speedometer on most things 2-wheels tends to be "optimistic."  This one locks in place and can be put on or taken off with one hand.  We'll see how it plays out.

Around 5:00 this afternoon, the rain finally came... and lasted about 15 minutes.  Tomorrow is supposed to be partly cloudy, with only a 15% chance of rain... should be a good time to see if the phone will stay in that new mount on the scoot.
