A humid start to the morning...

Joan suggested breakfast out this morning, taking the scoots.  She had me at "scoots."  We discussed options and decided to go for Pier 19 - the food is good and they have live music (Andrew on guitar and vocals) on Saturdays and Sundays.  No, we won't be doing my "Monday Special" tomorrow, since I have a follow-up doctor appointment first thing in the morning.

It was 80º and 85% humidity when we stepped outside... my sunglasses immediately fogged up.  Yep, it's humid.  Almost off our island, we got caught at a bridge opening...

On weekends and holidays, the bridge will open anytime on request; on weekdays, it is only on the hour for recreational boats (commercial traffic, anytime).  It was a small boat, so we didn't have to wait long.  A nice cruise across the causeway, and before going to Pier 19, we made a short detour so I could get the current scooter tag...

Your scoot with a windmill.  Yes, we could have done one of the many wind generators around here, but they are all west of us.  On to Pier 19...

Proof that I was along.  Into the restaurant...

A screen-shot, showing where we were; right over the water.  The food was good, as usual; a bit of humidity on the windows, though...

With bellies full, we continued our ride: up the island on the Gulf side, back down the island on the bay side.  Across the causeway and through Port Isabel.  Heading west out of town to get some highway riding in.  Coming back and heading for home, a group of motorcyclists caught up to us at Laguna Vista... 3 Harleys, 2 BMWs, and a KTM.  Surprisingly, one of the louder bikes was the BMW R NineT (a retro-styled roadster).

Coming into the house from our ride, it was time to get out of long pants and long sleeves, and into shorts.  It's still summer in the Tropical Tip.
