Bullitt meets the Keystone Cops...

Bullitt, as in: the movie starring Steve McQueen with one of the most famous car chase scenes in movie history.  And the Keystone Cops, as in: the slapstick humor of people crashing into each other.

We made a run to the storage unit again today; we plugged in the motorhome and turned on the fridge.  Checked tires.  Covered the boat (yes, it is in indoor storage).  Made a supply run to Sam's, and lunch out at the place where we are treated like family.  Without the noogies.  Picked up a couple extra entrees that will be easy to heat up after a day on the road.

Coming back into our home town, it felt like cars were coming at us from every direction!  Vehicles coming at us turning across our path, with less than adequate clearance.  Cars pulling across 3 lanes to cut in front of us.  Pickup trucks from the passenger side trying to occupy the same space as us in the lane... and I remember from physics class that that isn't possible.  Cars in front of us stopping for no reason.  Cars passing on the right in what would be street parking.

Now, for full disclosure, we see the above regularly.  But usually one asshole at a time.  This was about a mile and a half of all of the above.  Where the hell do all these gawd-awful drivers come from??  Did some unknown remedial driving school just let out?  Zombie apocalypse with the brain dead in cars and trucks?

We made it home unscathed, but it took some serious defensive driving.

Once home, I checked the tires on the scoots and the cargo trailer.  Well, since I had it out, I took Joan's scoot for a short jaunt, because... it was there.  ;-)  And no brain dead drivers encountered.
