That's a wrap...

Almost.  We planned to put away Christmas decorations today, indoors and out.

I got a bicycle ride in this morning, and shortly after that the "diminishing chance of rain" resulted in a light drizzle.  It lasted until mid-afternoon... that means the outdoor lights get a one-day reprieve.  We don't want to put them away damp.

So, the indoor decorations and the tree were on the afternoon agenda.  I have to admit, I was kinda sad to see the tree go into its 11 month hibernation - it really is pretty; in my mind, the best looking tree we've had.  Other Christmas stuff finds its way around the house, from potholders and hand towels to a chain pull on the ceiling fan; stockings to a hand-made (by my hands and a router) "Happy Holidays" wooden sign.  Christmas cats: photos of our cats over the years in their Santa hats.  It seems like every year, one item gets missed... a family tradition.  ;-)

Putting the tree away took the longest.  The lights stay on it, but all the ornaments have to be put in boxes or wrapped in tissue or bubble wrap.  Then, disassembling the tree.  It even fit back in its box.  The living room looks bigger, but less festive.

Sunny and windy is the forecast for tomorrow - pretty much what it was when we put up the outdoor lights and wreath.  That should let them get good and dry before they go into their storage bins.

I am calling this holiday season officially done.  Well, once tomorrow's work is complete.  Then it is time to move back into scooting and boating season.

:-)
