Why Don't We Do It In the Road...

If you said, "The Beatles, 1968," you get 15 bonus points.

When riding a motorcycle, you tend to watch for things in the road.  What kind of things?  Thanks for asking... gravel, fresh cut grass that has been blown onto the road, oil spots, tar snakes (where the cracks in the road have been patched with a narrow band of tar - these can be slippery), dead animals, live animals, stuff that has fallen out of or off of cars and trucks... the list goes on and on.

While riding yesterday, I came across quite a few of these things.  Gravel...

And that is fresh cut grass on the other side of the road.  Right in a curve.  Crews have been burying utility cable along this road and have apparently not been cleaning the roadway when they're done.

Tar snakes...

And, this one: a train from 143 years ago...

That's the 1880 Train that runs between Hill City and Keystone.  It crosses the Old Hill City Road about a dozen times - you have to watch for it (or listen for the whistle).

Yeah, the video from that ride...
