"Are you speaking of your evening activities, Jim?" Um, that would be mild-life, but thanks for asking. Today, Joan and I are heading out for a day on the bikes, and checking out the Wildlife Loop in Custer State Park. First that we've ridden that since we've been here this season.
Joan made us a picnic lunch, I got bikes ready, Rufus got lunch early, and we headed out. Five great twisty roads to get to Custer State Park. I shot some 360 video along the way - that will get worked up later. Probably. Once on the Wildlife Loop, we saw some antelope, the begging burros (nice ass - sorry, I can't help myself), and about 20 - 30 buffalo (or, before someone corrects me: bison) up on a ridge, a long ways from the road.
Once off the Wildlife Loop, we went north in the Park to the Blue Belle area, where we stopped for our picnic lunch. It was at lunch that I first fired up the Go 3 camera, shooting a couple stills and some video... that stuff will get posted here, the 360 video will, as stated above, come later.
A couple still photos...
From our lunch stop, we turned west on Hwy 36/16A almost to Custer, then north on Hwy 89... it's a great road (kind of the beginning of Needles Highway)...
In case you're wondering: that thing in the images just left of bottom center is the Insta360 One X2, the 360º camera. These images are being shot with the Insta360 Go 3, which isn't a 360º camera. Yeah, confusing. The Go 3 is mounted on top of my helmet, which is why you're seeing the top of my windshield and the X2 camera. That image directly above is one of the hairpin curves - that is the road you are seeing on the right side of the image - 180º turn.
Then, onto Hwy 244, which takes us past Mt Rushmore...
Just for the fun of it, I did some quick Photoshop work on the above photo and removed the X2 camera...
Hmmm - could you have done that on all the photos, Jim? Yes. But the POV (Point of View of the rider) did have that camera in there. It will be that camera that may (or may not) result in some video of the day.
A stop at the DQ in Keystone, then 4 more twisty roads to get back to the motorhome. A fun day of riding... we're a bit wore out - a sign that it was some great riding!
