Life's a beach...

There is another cold front that will be blowing in tonight.  This one sounds fugly: temps in the low 40s, winds gusting above 40mph, and rain.  It is going to be more typical of a norther, lasting 3 days.  The previous "mini-fronts" have been a one day event.

But right now, it is glorious!  Sunny, 79ª, and a balmy breeze.  We formulated a "get out and enjoy the weather now, 'cause the next few days are gonna be crappy" plan... breakfast at our favorite Monday place, then a walk on the new beach boardwalk.

Breakfast was great, then onto the nearby beach.  Our favorite place to access the beach is at Isla Blanca County Park.  They raised the annual entrance fee (now $100) and undertook some great upgrades.  One of those upgrades is an Event Center right on the southwestern point of SPI...

We walked around the grounds and peeked in the windows.  Looks more like a conference center in the building, and a nice concert setting outside.  From the audience seating, you are looking out to the water in the jetties area.  Look to your right and you can see Space-X at the horizon.  It will be a great place to view a launch.

Heading to the other side of the park (Gulf beach), I expected it to be busy due to the Veterns Day holiday.  I was wrong...

Only a few people on the beach.  We visited with a neighbor of ours who happened to be there to watch this ship being towed in...

The boardwalk along the beach is gorgeous...

The dunes are sea turtle habitat and are a protected area.  The boardwalk limits access and people walking through the fragile vegetation on the dunes...

We walked the length of the boardwalk, and enjoyed the views of the beach...

Obligatory selfie...

And then back the length of the boardwalk to where we parked...

Nice to be out and about... it will be a few days before we feel like being outside again.  This evening, we'll be battening down everything on the deck, dock, and boat; there's a change a comin'.
