After the mostly homebound day yesterday (I took 3 walks, bundled up), it felt good to get outside this morning. Cool enough that I still needed a jacket and cap, but the wind was down (57º, wind NW @ 12-15) enough to go for a bike ride after taking a walk.
The sun even came out for a few minutes. Yeah, one day of gray weather has me craving some sunshine. ;-)
A new event happening on SPI today...
South Padre Island Food Truck Festival
celebrates with food trucks serving up wonderful dishes and food
creations for everyone to enjoy. Our festival isn't just food trucks
though, we also have live music, arts & crafts, and plenty of kid
activities at the Kids' Zone. We are here to promote and celebrate South
Padre Island and its variety of foods, while also being a place where
families can go and have a great time together.
FREE EVENT!
Saturday, November 9, 2019 at SPI Convention Centre
12 p.m. to 12 a.m.
We plan to go there hungry. ;-)
--------------
Off to the food trucks...
Said good-bye to Rufus for a bit...
Surprisingly, there was no parking in the parking lot at the Convention Center, so a bit of a walk...

Looking around...
A portable stage (there will be live music later)...
Bouncy house and games for kids...
The crowd was pretty small at 1:30 (event started at noon). There were about 20 food trucks, and most had people getting food. I am guessing it will get busier as the day progresses.
So, how was the food? Well, we did walk around and checked out the different vendors; in the end, we decided to come back across the causeway and have lunch at Porky's, our local BBQ place. It was nice to get out and walk around, though.
