Stylish...

Me?  Hardly.  Although, one of the participants on the scooter forum thought I looked "matchy-matchy" with the new riding pants (black and light gray) and Joan's Xmax.  Of course, I'm talking about Rufus - the boy is a looker.  He has that luxurious mane... the last couple days, he has been getting food in his mane.  (I think he gets that from me.)  This morning, Joan fashioned a scarf for him (we knew he wouldn't wear it if we called it "a bib")...

He didn't seem to mind it, especially after we told him "how handsome he looks in his 'scarf'."  I'm guessing Joan will be making him a real scarf with a snap on it.

After running some errands, I took the Vespa out for some breeze.  It was a little breezy, but sunny and around 80º for a high.  Another fine day here in the Tropical Tip.  I rode around on SPI; took it north of the populated part of the island; the road runs for another 5 miles or so; pretty much two lanes through the sand dunes...

No, I didn't ride the scoot through the sand - it's a Vespa, not a dirt bike.  ;-)  In places, you can see over the dunes to either side of the island (it's only a couple blocks wide in this stretch).  The island goes north for another 20 miles or so; if you were so inclined, you can drive on the beach all that way.  Well, inclined and have a vehicle that's good in the sand.  There's a cut through the island at Port Mansfield, then the northern end of the island (called Padre Island, no "South") runs all the way to the Corpus Christi area.  For those who want to know, the four miles or so of developed properties at the south end of the island is the town of South Padre Island.  And now you know a bit about the geography here.
