Not low tide. And, we know where the water went: the water district is doing some work on the main water line on our island. We were told the water would be out starting at 8:30 a.m. ... then, they upped it to 8:00... with the expectation of water being out until 4:30 or so.
We put some extra water in each of the bathrooms, following the Boy Scout motto: be prepared. We were both up early and showed. Breakfast early, dishes washed.
As it turns out, we had water still an hour after they said it would be out; but, it did go out.
Truth be told, it isn't unusual for the water to be shut off for repairs here - just depends on where the work is being done. Sometimes we get advance notice (like with today's shut off), and other times it happens without notice. There is an e-mail and text blast that goes out from the village office. Sometimes.
Life on the edge of the country.
