Yep, it's always something...

Still a bit achy, but feeling better after the Covid and flu shots.

When the house has sat empty for a while, there are things you come back to that need to be dealt with.  One of those things this time is a leaky faucet on our RO (Reverse Osmosis) system.  This faucet has no replaceable innards - you just replace it.  Joan looked at a bunch of them on-line, then said, "How would you feel about a trip into Harlingen, stop at Lowe's or Home Depot, then go out to the storage unit to put a few things back in the coach and get the griddle out?"

"I'm in.  And how about some lunch out while we're there?"

Agreed.

It's never as easy as you think.  We went to Lowe's and they had a grand total of one RO faucet to pick from and it was brushed aluminum; we need chrome to match the rest of the faucet stuff on that sink.  I made the mistake of asking an employee if they had any other reverse osmosis faucets... he looked at his phone for a couple minutes without responding.  Honestly, I didn't know if he was looking for the faucet or checking his Instagram account.  Then, he pulled out a second phone and compared them.  Still, not a word out of him.  Finally, after about 5 uncomfortable minutes, he said, "Over there," pointing where I told him I looked.

On to Home Depot.  They had less to select from than the choice of one at Lowe's.  I guess these don't break.  Ours has lasted 19 years.  Before we got out of the parking lot at Home Depot, Joan had ordered the one she liked from Amazon.  It should be here Tuesday.

We stopped at Freddie's for lunch, after which Joan said, "Good burger, but not as good as what you make on the griddle."  I was thinking, "I wish the burgers I make could be this good."  Perspective.

On to the storage unit, where we pulled the coach out, put Sta-bil in the gas tank, and ran the motor and the generator to get some Sta-bil going through each.  We put some Damp Rid in the coach.  It is ready for a well-deserved rest... until I get up the gumption to pull it out and wash it.  Some other time.

On the way home, we saw that gas prices have jumped about 20¢ per gallon in the last couple days.  Likely because of OPEC's announcement that they are going to cut production.  So, something they are going to do in the future affected prices here immediately, and almost all the stations we went by went up the exact same amount.  Price fixing?  Nahhh.  (Insert a big fat sarcasm emoji here)  Dirty thieving bastards.  Surprisingly, our local Walmart hadn't changed prices, yet.  We needed to pick up a few things, so I filled up the Equinox, before the price goes up.

On the bright side, we have the griddle at home again, so we can get back to that.  Joan already requested French toast and bacon for breakfast tomorrow.  She's got a guy that will make that for her.  Welcome home.
